When does GTA 6 come out, and can the date still move?
Confirmed Rockstar set the launch for Thursday, November 19, 2026. Take-Two repeated that date in its June 24, 2026 press release opening pre-orders, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Analysis This is the third date. The game first aimed for 2025, then May 26, 2026, before the November 6, 2025 announcement pushed it to November 19, 2026 (history reported by Engadget). Rockstar said at the time that it needed more time to finish the game to the level of polish expected. Nothing points to another delay today, but nothing rules one out either. If you book a day off for launch, pick an option you can move.
What time will GTA 6 be playable?
Confirmed Rockstar has not published a launch time. The PlayStation Store France listing, however, shows availability on November 18, 2026 at 11 pm UTC. That is midnight Paris time, on the night of November 18 to 19 (France is on UTC+1 in November).
Analysis As of September 23, 2026, we found no matching time published on the Microsoft Store. A midnight local-time launch is common on consoles, but unlock times can change as launch gets closer. Check your store's listing again in the week of November 12.

Analysis Nothing official says the Ultimate Edition adds a map area or missions: its description talks about items (vehicles, weapons, outfits) spread through the story. If a video or post claims otherwise, look for the official source before taking it seriously. You can also buy the Standard Edition and upgrade to Ultimate later: the upgrade listing already exists on the PlayStation Store, but its price is not shown.
The free month of GTA+: what is it for, and what trap should you avoid?
Confirmed The GTA+ month is for digital pre-orders only. Take-Two presents it as the best way to enjoy GTA Online, the online mode of GTA V, which carries on. The PlayStation listing states that the membership renews automatically and must be claimed before March 31, 2027.
Analysis If you don't play GTA Online, this month is no use to you. If you activate it, write down the end date and turn off auto-renewal in your account settings so you don't pay for the next month by accident. When can you preload, and what is in the physical box?
Confirmed According to Take-Two, digital versions can be preloaded from November 12, 2026. The physical version holds a download code in the box, not a disc, and will be available from November 12.
Analysis Two practical consequences:
- Buying the boxed version doesn't spare you the download. You will need the same free space on your console and a decent connection.
- A code is tied to your account once redeemed: you won't be able to resell or lend the box like a disc (a point raised by GameSpot, among others). That is also why a disc drive is no use for GTA 6 on a PS5 Pro or a PS5 Digital Edition.

Which consoles get GTA 6, and what about PC?
Confirmed PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only. The PlayStation page states that the game is not available on PS4. The PlayStation Store listing also says "PS5 Pro Enhanced". No PC version is announced.
Analysis Rockstar has always released its big games on console first, then on PC later. Take-Two says PC matters more and more to the company, without giving a date (comments reported by the press in September 2026). If you only play on PC, there is no reliable date to plan around today.
